What you shoud do is look for the greatest deal on the best flowers, so you finish up saving money, just not compromising on quality.

The place to get the best deal is to order flowers online for delivery. Local florists have big operating costs and sometimes their flowers are not as fresh as you’d like them to be. But when you order online, the flowers are ordinarily sourced direct from the farmer.

Online flowers are harvested that morning, put into your flower bouquet and sent out before they wilt. That means you get the freshest, most inexpensive flowers because there is no middleman. Just a website between you and your flower delivery.

Cheap Flower Delivery Tip #2: Pick Out Weekday Flower Delivery
Deliveries during the week, Monday to Friday can save you a lot of money on delivery charges. Many places, bill way more for Saturday deliveries. Different tip to keep in mind is that most florists don’t open on Sundays, so if you order flowers on Monday, you are potentially getting flowers that were cut on Saturday. For the finest flowers, have them delivered from Tuesday to Friday.

Cheap Flower Delivery Tip #3: Choose Seasonal Flowers
When you explore through a website looking for just the right bouquet to send, go directly to the seasonal flowers. It’s usually called, Spring Flowers, or in Bloom Flowers, or Best Sellers. These flowers are growing strong and exquisite right at the time you order so they are the best choice for three reasons. One, there are plenty of those flowers available. Two, they will last longer because flowers are strongest when they are in season. And three, because florists prefer stocking seasonal flowers, they want to sell more. Seasonal flowers are the most cheapest flowers online.

Cheap Flower Delivery Tip #4: Order Early for Special Occasions
Some online florists raise their prices around special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc. especially for delivery. But if you place your order at least 7 days before the big day, you can save money on delivery and you usually get a great bargain on the flowers too.

Cheap Flower Delivery Tip #5: Buy a Year’s Worth of Flowers at Once
I know it sounds crazy, but more and more online flower delivery services are are providing this type of service. They offer monthly presents, a diverse bouquet every last month for the year. They send out the freshest, in season flowers once a month to your loved one. You can personalise the card every month so your recipient doesn’t have to know you bought them all at once. The advantage to this is that you can salvage a deal of money by buying in bulk. They hand you the best deals attainable when you order a year’s supply at once. If you don’t follow any of the other tips above, follow this one and you will get cheap flower delivery all year long. You’ll be a hero in your loved one’s eyes.

Sending flowers cheap doesn’t have to be hard especially when you follow these points and consider online reviews of flower delivery services to find out what real, impartial customers are telling about the best places to buy flowers online and the cheapest flower delivery.

Chinese Baby Full Moon Gift Packs

July 30th, 2010 by admin
N.Y. Chow asked:

The first month after a baby’s birth is a significant time for Chinese families, where it is customary to also distribute baby full moon gift packs. During this time, the Chinese parents often celebrate with a dinner party, or a celebration. Concurrently, the full moon also marks the end of the mother’s confinement period.

For a full month after delivery, Chinese mothers are confined to the home in order to recuperate. They are served with special Chinese herbs to speed up recovery, and are restricted to numerous post-delivery customs. For instance, bathing in cold water and drinking un-boiled water are taboo during these times. Conversely, red date drinks and ginger cooked chicken are a must within the confinement menu. It is also common amongst Chinese families to engage the help of a Confinement Lady for a month. Skilled in the arts of confinement, she cooks and cares for the mother, and advises her on all the dos and don’ts of post-natal traditions.

Typically, a full moon feast is held where friends and relatives are invited to welcome the arrival of the new baby to the family. Nevertheless, the grandeur of this feast may vary between families. Some may opt to host a banquet, much like a Chinese wedding, while others may choose to have a party at home. Of course, with the new baby as the center of attention, this is an excellent opportunity for the proud parents to show their baby off to the adoration of their guests.

Another special full moon tradition of the Chinese would be the presentation of baby full moon gift packs to friends, colleagues and relatives. Delightful treats such as glutinous rice with tumeric, hard boiled eggs dyed in red, curry chicken and an ensemble of Chinese cakes.

The most popular of the Chinese tarts most commonly used in full moon gift packs would be the “Ang Koo” cake. Made of a mixture of glutinous rice floor, sweet potato and red dye kneaded into dough, each tart is inserted with a filling of soft green peas and pandan leaves. When the cake is cooked, a mould resembling a tortoise shell would be used to form the unique surface of the “Ang Koo”. In Chinese culture, this would resemble longevity and prosperity. A must in a full moon gift pack would be a red egg in each pack that signifies new life and good luck. Served with pickled ginger, these eggs are boiled with the shells specially dyed in red.

Finally, these essential items are neatly packed into a gift box, specially designed for full moon packs. Presentable and uniquely designed, the name of the baby and the parents are printed on the cover of the pack. Truly, these fine full moon gift packs have evolved from the days of our grandparents when gift packs were presented in plastic bags.

How To Make Money From Home With Flowers

July 27th, 2010 by admin
Carrie Leland asked:

You may have always thought ” wouldn’t it be lovely to own a flower shop” Well at one point in time you would have been correct. Once you got past the initial cost of opening up your retail florist you should have been guaranteed success as long as you treated your customers right, sent out wonderful product and basically minded your business.

Over the past decade or so though that has all changed. I’m not 100% sure about your city but I know in mine (which has a population of 450,000 and is very close to several other cities with comparable populations) the number of brick & mortar retail florist has decreased by at least half and the larger companies stopped their rapid expansion some time ago.

It’s a new day and age for florist due to many things. No longer do people have to visit their local florist for fresh flowers, they can pick up a beautiful bouquet for the same price I pay wholesale at their local Wal-Mart or grocery store. I do truly marvel at the cost and quality of these flowers. But to understand how the stores can do this is simple. Buying Power/Quantity and of course their suppliers are going to ship great product, they would never want to take a chance with that account!

Another reason of course is the internet. If you do a search for a local florist (which I did recently & was amazed) you may think you are ordering from a florist that is another mom & pop store in the city you want to send flowers to, but the majority of the time the websites you pull up are actually created by “Order Gatherers” This is basically a business that has set up web sites to impersonate local florist. The only business they actually do is gather your order and then forward it on to a “Real Florist” The real florist will only receive the order if they are a member of one of the large wire services, which some are starting to see the light and get out of thankfully.

What does all this mean? The person that answers the phone for your Aunt Betty’s Flowers will keep 20% of the money for your order and usually receive a $4.00 rebate from the wire service that they are using. The wire service will keep 7% of your money. What does the florist that fills your order get? They will pay .75 to receive your order over the wire service system, they will pay 35% to fill your order and they will pay anywhere from $300 to $800 a month to be a member of this wire service.

If you do the math it’s just horrible. The person that took your $60.00 order will make $16.00 just for answering the phone. The florist that actually does the work will make $21.45 for the order. So they would have to fill at least 15 of these orders just to cover the cost of being a member to the wire service.

So what can you do if the idea of making money with flowers is appealing to you. First, do not follow the majority of the business books on the topic. I have not seen a new book written yet that is relevant to todays marketplace. Second, and this is a term that I see more and more often now “Find A Niche”.

In the past a florist wanted to be a “Full Service Florist” but my peers that have left the full service arena have generally gone on to specialize in Weddings and other Niches and are doing quite well without all of the headache and stress that goes with the brick & mortar full service route. In fact one wonderful lady I know that would fill in for me for my funeral work if I had to be away from the shop ( my regular employees could do day to day but not funeral work) left the flower shop she worked at when it changed ownership over 7 years ago and became a wedding florist.

I visited her in November (not a typical busy time of year for weddings) and she was booked each weekend. Initially she had to get over the stigma of working from home. But if you look at todays workforce, working from home is now something more and more people are doing and if they are not it is probably just because they haven’t found the right solution to make the money they want to make.

The profits from working from home are also great. I used to spend $8,000 a month before I even made a profit and I didn’t even advertise hardly. (That used to be one of the biggest cost for most business but the internet has all but done away with yellow page ads etc.)

Let’s look at this example, say you do decide to do everyday flowers from your home with orders you receive from your website, word of mouth etc. The $60 bouquet we used as an example earlier will now put $39 or more in your pocket and you won’t have to make 15 free arrangement’s just to pay for your wire service. After 15 arrangements you’ll have $585 in your pocket instead of $0. Thats a huge difference and face it You Should Get Paid For All Of Your Time & Effort. Don’t you agree?

Wedding Flowers – Find Cheap Low Cost Ways to Buy Flowers For Your Wedding

July 26th, 2010 by admin
Bryan Burbank asked:

One of the happiest times a couple will have is at their wedding day because they will be finally sharing in a tradition that will bring them together as one. There are many expenses when it comes to planning a wedding and flowers are one of the biggest. You can go with the traditional florist and they usually have a lot of choices for you to choose form but keep in mind they are going to charge a premium for their services and the truth is you can save money by doing a lot of the work yourself.

First you want to search for a floral wholesaler in your town because this will allow you to purchase a great selection of flowers at a discount price. These places can be great because they usually have a large selection for you to choose from. You want to have in mind the color theme of your wedding because this in many cases will dictate the flowers that you use to decorate.

It is always a good idea to search online for arrangement ideas because this will allow you to make a stunning look at your wedding and you can save thousands of dollars that you would have other wise gave a florist to do the same thing and in many cases a florist may be limited to what they have done in the past and may not be open to new things.

Remember that it is not hard to find ideas and flowers at a discount price and you should save money on your wedding and still have flowers that wow your guest at the same time.

Gilchrist Adam asked:

Not a vast number of careers today offer so many benefits as compared to the floral business. Being a florist provides you with the opportunity to be able to be enclosed by exquisiteness on a daily basis and have a profession that is enjoyable and appealing. A feeling of contentment would be achievable related to your work as you would be having a hands-on job. What is more is that by starting your own florist business, you would be able to take pleasure in the lack of restrictions and monetary rewards of being your own boss.

No particular license or anything is required so as to become a florist, but what is needed are both capability and a yearning. The services of a florist are usually taken up by people when they desire to wish somebody well, put across a particular emotion, or just make someone feel exceptional. The capability to bring into being a flowery arrangement that come up to the wish as well as the objective of the customer is the fundamental nature of a triumphant florist.

For those who tend to have a genuine interest in cut flowers as well as a great interest and creativity related to color harmonization and design, you are the ideal aspirant for taking up the career of a florist. On the other hand, much more is required apart from the capability to put together a beautiful bouquet of roses. Information of the ways to take care of cut flowers, the feelings that are communicated by them and the selections obtainable is indispensable to the florist industry.

What is further required is having information and being interested in doing good business. It is totally up to you so as to choose whether you wish to become a self-determining florist in your neighborhood, or whether you wish to become a component of a countrywide franchise. Another option that you have is to work for someone else on the whole. No matter which option you choose for yourself, your individuality and contemplation development must be contributing to functioning with people and managing business, which is frequently associated with susceptible issues. Those who wish to send flowers for memorial services, weddings, and delivery are repeatedly very emotionally fond of the receiver and consequently necessitate outstanding customer service.

Becoming a florist is a good way to be surrounded by flowers and esteem their grace, their magnificence, but, what you need to know is that you would have to work, be wise, read a lot and then be a good merchant.

The Advance of the Teddy Bears

July 14th, 2010 by admin
Jennifer R Scott asked:

Stuffed animals and dolls have always been popular, but since their creation in the early 1900s teddy bears have been one of the best selling toys available. These stuffed bears were given the name “teddy” after Theodore, or “Teddy” Roosevelt had a famous incident on a bear hunt. A toy shop introduced “Teddy’s bear” and after that they became a staple of childhood toys.

Due to a whole lot of creative thinking over the years, there are now thousands of types of bears. You can find them in any toy section, and there are also stores that specialize in them.

An idea that recently became popular is to give personalized teddy bears as gifts. “Build-Your-Own” stores are widely popular because they allow people to choose everything about the stuffed animal they are creating.

There are also online stores that make and sell creative, usually limited-edition bears. A person can choose a bear by narrowing down the fields of choices. There are bears for all occasions; hobby bears, thank you bears, and sympathy bears are just a few examples. These companies deliver these bears right to the recipient’s home along with a card, much like a flower delivery.

Some of the most popular themed teddy bears are those that have a career theme. Firefighter, police, nurse, and teacher bears are all career bears.

Some people collect teddy bears; and their reasons for doing so are as varied as the people themselves. Some people only collect antique or vintage teddy bears. Other people only collect bears made by a certain company. Every holiday has teddy bears that are customized to it, and some people pick a holiday and collect bears that go with it.

One thing that is really amazing is that teddy bears have been put in many places in the house. There is clothing with pictures of teddy bears on it, kitchen d

How to Identify the Best Local Flower Shops For Your Flower Delivery

July 14th, 2010 by admin
Lalit Manjrekar asked:

Flowers have always had a strange power over us. To say the least, most of us are fascinated by the beauty of flowers. Of course, it helps that various flowers have different meanings. In fact, the act of presenting someone with flowers stems from the Victorian era when flowers doubled up as messengers. Since that time, we have been sending and receiving flowers during all kinds of occasions, for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and even for funerals.

In the past, so long as we wanted to send flowers to someone staying close by, sending flowers was a snap. All you had to do was visit a local florist, pick your favorite flowers and make the payment. But what would you do if you wanted to deliver flowers at some faraway place?

Online flower delivery has made it easy for us to deliver fresh cut flowers in faraway places. In the past, you had to depend on the agents of FTD (Florist Transworld Delivery) services to deliver your flowers. The process was somewhat complicated. You would go to your nearest branch and order the flowers you like from a very limited choice of selection. Then, you would pay and pray that the agency delivered the flowers you selected in a favorable condition. These services were extremely expensive and you never had any way to be sure that your gift was being delivered in time.

All you have to do is identify a good online flower directory service. These directories allow you to search through their wide selections and make your choices. You may search according to the place of delivery, time of service, type of flowers and occasion. Some directories even have a special category where they allow you to buy directly from growers. These flowers are among the best cut flowers, and when you buy directly from growers, you can avoid paying huge fee and commission.

Local flower shops also have a great amount of flexibility when it comes to the time of delivery. In case of emergencies, you can spot local flower shops that would be willing to deliver flowers on the same day. This would be impossible with international services that deliver flowers overnight. So, before you select local flower shops, see whether they accommodate your needs.

Local flower shops are your best choice when sending flowers to remote places. These shops will have seasonal flowers in stock, so you need not pay extra for exotic flowers. Just be careful that you buy from the right flower shop by going through their website for policies and terms.
